Professor Daniel C. Etsy is renowned in the USA for his work in environmental law, energy and sustainability. He advised President Obama’s 2007 – 2008 election campaign team on energy and environmental issues and served as a member of the Presidential Transition Team.

Educated at Harvard, Oxford (as a Rhodes scholar) and Yale, Etsy is now the Hillhouse Professor of Environmental Law and Policy in the Yale School of Forestry and Environmental Studies and a Clinical Professor of Environmental Law and Policy at Yale Law School. He is the Director of the Yale Center for Environmental Law and Policy as well as the Center for Business and the Environment at Yale.

The author of 10 books and numerous articles on environmental policy, Etsy looks beyond the USA to global issues. He was a Senior Fellow at the Institute for International Economics in 1993 – 94, and in 2000 – 01 he served as a Visiting Professor at the business school INSEAD in Fontainebleau, France.

Esty is much in demand as a commentator in his field, and is known to US television audiences for his appearances on The Colbert Report, The O’Reilly Factor and Glenn Beck, where he has discussed business innovation and the environment.
